The problem isn't this 'ism or that 'ism.....Communism, Capitalism, Socialism...Anarchism...or whatever....it's not that one of them works and the others don't. The system is not problem. the problem is people.
Any system would work if everyone was on board and played by the rules of the system, if everyone just followed the honor system and respected the rules of whatever system, then everything would be great, it'd all work as planned.
But that's not the way it is and it's never going to be like that, because the issue is not the system but us the people. There will always be greedy people, people who seek to control lives, people who seek an edge over others, who seek leverage so they may impose their will upon others, who connive to corrupt and undermine the system so they may usurp power for themselves, people who think they are better than others .....there will always be people like that.
There will always be good people and there will always be bad people. And that is the crux of the problem.
Good people don't aspire much to power, a good mind, a good heart wants to imagine and create, it wants to wonder and contemplate, it wants to explore life..........other than for study the intrigue of power , making it the center of their lives isn't appealing. Power itself is actually mundane to most bright and imaginative minds.
And that has turned out to be a big problem for the good people of this world, our best and brightest haven't sought positions of power. Because they aren't interested in controlling other people's lives, because they aren't interested in the reigns of power.....power is pretty much left to the bad guys to posses and wield. The good people have come under the thumb of the bad people because the good people haven't wanted to deal with the drudgery of seizing and wielding power.
For bad people the pursuit and attainment of power is a turn on, they get off on it, they enjoy the feelings it fills them with, where for good people, it fills them with boredom.
If a person is not in a position of power, then there stands a much better chance they are a good person, by the mere fact they are not in power.
But that reality has led the good people to become leashed and controlled by the bad people. The only answer, the only way out of this situation is for the good people of this world to put aside their personal aspirations and aspire to seize power.
Power must be seized by the good, the good must do their duty to being good, there is no two ways about. Who is good? That is for each one of us to decide but what is more important is that if YOU think you are a good person, then you must become active and seek to gain influence. When that happens, Good will take care of itself, it will naturally coalesce with itself, as does the bad with itself. Just like water, both seek their own level.
If you are a bright, imaginative, creative person, maybe you want to be an artist, have a career in music, be a writer, a scientist, a critic, etc. If you consider yourself a good person, then you need to put aside those dreams and desires and pursue power instead. At the very least you have to do what you can. Because you are everyone's only hope.
We the good people have to put aside our personal lives, put down our own works and go to work on fixing this society and planet.
The good people have to put the bad people in their place. If the bad people are in power, that means the good people are the people not in power.
Those are the people who must now vie for power and attain it. Hope lies only with them.
The jingoistic fairy tale that casts the U.S. as defender of freedom and democracy in the world is an obvious farce.
